I worked up some today. 40 grains of IMR 3031 behind a 300 grain jacketed hollow point. Around 1650 fps. Kill anything in Georgia. I like solids for hogs, but, these are for deer. I've got to get to the range in the morning and see how they hit through my new Bushnell 3x9x32.

I had a nice group of photos to upload, but, somehow I deleted them without first copying and saving to another directory.

Here is a photo of the 45/70, with the scope I put on a couple of weeks ago. It is exactly like the one that you have Gav, just has the same scope in black instead of silver.

Here are some solids that I loaded up a while back. These were boomers, 53 grains of IMR 3031. Shoulder stomping, water buffalo loads. :) I've since learned that a medium powered load will kill a deer or pig or bear just as dead.

Thanks Dew, it looks twice as good as the photo shows it to be. Those stainless steel sling swivels and leather swing are nice. The guy at the range had those real gnarly looking rings too. Six screws per ring. That scope ain't going nowhere. Best -

Those tactical rings wouldn't let it slip if it wanted to. Nice rig TT.
