Whats the longest trip you've made on a motorcycle?

In 2004, 7 of us took off across country, spent 15 days on the road, and covered 21 states. 6,413 miles. Took almost the same trip again in 2007.

Never have been on a very long one like. Mostly like from here to the Smokies or something. Never have been able to get away like that. Sounds like a whole lot of fun and a very sore hiny :poke:.

Longest for me when I had my bike was a non stop trip from Pittsburgh to just south of ATL. Thought I felt prety good when I got off the bike then I sat on the couch and was out in less than 5 min

Made a trip a few years ago, 3 days, Just under 1000 miles, rode states of NC, Tenn, Ky, Ga. I have rode a little over 500 miles in one day. I found out I don't have a iron rear like some riders. I like to take a break about every hour, helps me enjoy the ride.

Took 8 days back in 2007 and toodled along The Blueridge Parkway from my home in NW GA and back. A very nice relaxing trip in October when the leaves were just starting to turn. Went all the way to the north end of it and all the way back down. Stayed in a different location every night. We took one day off in Asheville and toured The Biltmore. We just went slow and enjoyed the ride.

I left in 1970 and rode a new harley 74 ElCtra glige to califorina and from there to montana down threw the dakotas and back to georgia . But i was only 19 yrs old when i left in june and was 20 when i got home . Only broke down twice poped a chain going over the rockies and had a flalt in s dakota took all most a yr ride..

Just got me a 06 road star midnight silverrodo about 2 wks ago i gave up harleys a yr ago .

i gave up harleys a yr ago . Sounds like what I wished I had gotten out of my system when I was young. Not that I need to now, but I wish I had perused the country when I was young. What made you give up the Harleys?

i love a harley but the up keep is just to high cost my last one was a 2002 heritage soft tail the fuel pump went out cost was close to 800.00 and just seam every time i turned around it cost me to fix something. The onlt real good harley i ever owned was the old 74 electra glide.

The only thing that I've had to pay for was having tires balanced (I mount my own). I even do my own painting. I'm ready for a new paint scheme too. Current one is an American flag theme with the raising of the flag on Iowa Jima ghosted into the front fender and the American eagle on the rear fender along with the flag flaming out in the back fender. I'm ready for something different (paint).

Rode all over the West Coast in the 70's. No idea most miles, maybe because I can't remember them LOL........... Getting ready to get back into motorcycles (road bikes) and will let you know in a couple of months.....................RW

i work with automotive paint for 25 yrs before i came disabled love to do custom painting on cars and bikes i had to replace the rear fender on my heritage so i got the paint and clear and done it in my front drive. Restriped it and the guys at the harley shop tried to get me to do painting for the shop. I hated to tell them no just wasn't able to do much work anymore. .

Last May, my brother and I attempted to ride to Los Angeles via the old Route 66. We had planned to pick up 66 in Oaklahoma and to camp out along the way. It was raining when we left, and rained for 3 days, so we did not camp, didn't want to pitch the tent in the rain. Finally made it to Texas and the sun was out at the end of the day so we decided to find a camp ground. That evening we watched as the lightning got closer and closer then the monsoon came. The tent leaked, we were soaked and did not sleep well at all that night. The next morning we decided that we would abandon this attempt and head back home. All total we rode about 2300 miles.

Rode 210 miles last Saturday. Went up through the Ocoee gorge on hwy 64. Turned on 68 through Ducktown and went by Field of the Woods, Hiwassee Dam and Murphy NC.
Rode down Hwy 19 down through Blairsville GA to Vogel State Park, a really nice place. I need to take my swimsuit next time so i can cool off when i get there.
Went back north on 19 and took Hwy 5 and 515 from Blairsville GA to Ellijay GA. Ate lunch in Ellijay. Could not find a decent Steak House in Ellijay. If you know a good place to eat in Ellijay let me know. I ride there a few times a year.
Rode Hwy 52 from Ellijay through Fort Mountian State Park to Chatsworth Ga.
Rode Hwy 411 North to my house in Oldfort TN.

My first real long ride was my longest ever. Back in the early '80's I took a '77 FLH on trade for a boat I had for sale. I had always ridden dirt bikes but never really had any interest in street bikes. But, I had been planing a trip to California the up coming summer and decided to trade and ride this newly acquired bike rather than driving.
I Left Louisiana solo to LA, Cal. rode the cost up to Seattle across the upper Rockeys and down through the Great Plains and south through Mid-West States and back home.
It took just over a month. I saw many of our Great National Park along the way and met some of the finest people you could ever hope to meet. I slept in a tent at park along the way, ate a lot of Vienna sausages and king dongs. About once a week or so I would get a motel room to sleep in a real bed and get a good hot shower. I have no idea how many miles, the odometer never worked on that bike.
One of the best things I ever did! Hope I can do it again some day, only this time with my wife to share the experience with me. And of course less tent, more hotels and better food!

I did a round trip from Knoxville to the tip of Nova Scoia. That took about 10 days. Camped all the way. Longest 1 day was from Jacksonville Fl to Knoxville (550). It was after the Daytona bike week. It was 36 degrees when I hit the road. Last month, my daughter and her boy friend road from Memphis to Key west, got married, road to Knoxville, then back to Memphis. On Vespas.
