Left Saturday morning from the Hardees at US64/US411 in Ocoee TN
Took 411 N to Hwy 30 and rode south on 30 to Webb Brothers Store at Reliance.
Turned left on Reliance Rd/State RD 315, went across the Hiwassee River and rode north to Mecca Pike/State Rd 39.
Turned right on Mecca Pike and rode to Tellico Plains, TN.
Turned left off US 68 onto State Rd 165/Cherohala Skyway and rode to Hwy 129 in Robbinsville NC. Just missed several rain showers and the clouds were low and passing through the gap on top like fog. Made for a cool and pleasant trip on the Cherohala.

My wife and I stop about every hour when we ride, sometimes more if we something of interest.
We stopped and ate lunch at a café across from the Courthouse in Robbinsville. I can’t remember the name but the food was good. We picked up a map while eating lunch and decided to take a new road on the way home.
We left Robbinsville going south on US129. At the junction with US19/74 we turned left and went about 3 miles to Wayah Rd on the right. The map gave the road number as 1310. I did not see the road number on a sign, I could have misses it. Wayah Rd travels up Nathalie River and there are rafting outfitters on the left as you start up the river. The road is a paved and two lanes nut it is narrow without a shoulder and is very crooked from one end to the other. My kind of road and glad I found it.
After a few miles you cross a bridge at the powerhouse and start uphill into the mountains with the river on your right side. There were several people trout fishing. We went by the falls and I will take my swim trunks and take a dip in one of the pools to cool off the next time I go.
After a few miles you will see Lake Nantahala on your right. It is a beautiful mountain like with clear water. I saw one marina that rents boats and a public boat ramp.
When you get close to the US64 on the south end you pass Lyndon B Johnson Job Corp Center before you exit the Nantahala National Forest. Northeast GA, Northwest SC and Eastern NC travelers can get direction to the Job Corp center at http://lyndonbjohnson.jobcorps.gov/directions.aspx (http://lyndonbjohnson.jobcorps.gov/directions.aspx) and start from there traveling to the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway or the Smoky Mtn National Park.
We turned west on US64 and traveled through Murphy NC and the Ocoee Gorge back home. About 250 miles round trip but a great ride.
Sorry about the long post but I wanted to give good directions if anyone wanted to ride the same way.
