need to start tradin' some knives. just realized i've got a drawer full, most of which i never. use everything from old ontario hawkbill to opinel, kershaws, case. geez.

I got one that would be a good trade...a hundred+ year old butcher knife...big rascal I found in an old trunk in an estate sale of an old guy that I knew..He was 90 and the tag that was on the knife indicated that it was HIS grandfather's. This thing is 17 in. long and razor sharp.

It's just something to take up space in the closet....figured that one day I'd run into a butcher and let him trade me out of it..:D

No telling how many years ago it was sharpened either..still super sharp..guess it's really good steel.

I got a big ole knife kinda like that. I dont know how old it is but its OLD and big! Looks to be homemade. It belonged to a ole maid that use to live here on my place. I got 3 ole knifes that belonged to her. I think 2 of them are them Old Hickory knifes.

Those old hickory knives have sure been around a while too. This one is handmade but they did a fair job.

The one big one is a little over 16" long I believe its homemade. The two Old Hickorys are 12" long. They all need to be cleaned up. :pat:

I'll bet these old knives have seen a lot of meat cutting over many years...
